I hate blogger i have a hard time getting the F** curser to work when im trying to compose a stupid post.....Does any one have this problem ps i hate blogger

The easy…hard or easy….. The media that I chose was the show desperate house wives it was easy to write. It was an easy topic to write about because it has all of these lenses that we have been looking at throughout the past couple of weeks. The lenses that it has is how are men masculine/women / feminine represented, where are the non white people, and where the money power. How about when you compared the process of analyzing something you like to analyzing/and apllying the lenses….. When it came to analyzing the show and comparing it to some of the lenses that we did in class I could compare the /masculine/ women/ feminine topic and where are all the nonwhite people, and where the money power. The show has so much to do with masculine and women when I analyzed the show there were some things that I didn’t realize before that it’s a show that is based on rich white people and having drama a lot of the feminine topics that they show is house wives cleaning and doing the women duties are the house and one character I say would sometimes try to break out of that role by wanting to enter the working world, and there is only a few of the non white people that they show that are rich other than that they show more non white people doing yard work Images……. I picked my images on senses that I talked about in my easy to give examples…

In the speech that Joss talks about why does he create such strong women characters, he says that his mother was strong tough and sexy and that he surrounds himself with these women that are really strong. So in the show firefly there are a few women characters that are very strong and like the character Zoe she is very strong minded and she always stands by the captain and at times disagrees with the with him but she stands next to him as a solider no matter what, she is also solider that fought in battle with mal regardless of her being kind of manly she is very pretty and is a loving wife.

The way Joss created these women characters I believe he is a feminist because in the show firefly there are some examples of feminism for example when the captain had the wife she was cooking for him she wanted to serve him in any way that she could just because she was a wife. This  is showing that women are kind of not equal to men. In episode six where mals wife is serving him food and something to drink and Zoë and wash come to the table,  wash states that he is hungry and Zoë does nothing about it, and the fact that Mals wife makes a statement about only good wives or women serve or make their husbands food.  Then Zoë gets mad because to me it seems that wash and her put themselves as equal, in other words just because Zoë is a wife does not mean she has to serve him. Instead of spending time making meals she is out in the field being an outlaw with the crew kicking ass. I do not think joss contradicts himself because he shows a type of feminism can be created with the males and females in the show firefly which is showing equality in such ways.  

Another good example is Kylee is practically a handy lady she can fix anything on the ship. Her character is geeky and smart and beautiful and very handy like a handy man but better. This is another example of showing equality if a guy can do it why can’t a girl. I don’t think firefly is contradicting because any one woman can fix things like Kylee or kick ass like Zoë. Joss just inputs a lot of equality in making such strong women characters. Like inputting the idea of a little bit of male in every women character and coming  up with women characters like Zoe an Kylee.

 i use to watch a lot of tv but since i move out to live on my own i do not have time, but when i do watch tv its when i hang out with some friends. but i only watch tv maybe once or twice a month..but when i do I am glued to the tv
 

What is Sic-Fi

Sic-fi is more like fantasy and looking into the future and aliens all that weird stuff. Firefly is not your usual SF show, it strays away from the original SF shows we are used to like star trek and all those weird shows. It seems that they wanted to get a different feel using the concept of SF and topping it off with western added to it. It does have the SF concept because it is looking into the future and has to do with outer space and spaceships, like In the jes battis article they state that it is about human expansion and exploration and interaction in the farthest of space.

What does Sci-fi and Western do and mean

In the Jes Battis article it was stated that it lacks aliens but the creation of science fictional future has much power that it goes into the future so that many viewers view it as SF, but at the same time lacking aliens many viewers question if it is SF. The fact that humans are up in space and really ties it to SF. In the article they also stated that they used the western genre because they wanted to bring all the mythos of old western to the show so that the “western action” can fuse with Sic-Fi.               

What Firefly falls under more or less and y…

What genre does firefly fall under western, SF, has some romance and action? Sic-Fi is science fiction and fantasy. When many people think of SF they think of aliens, outer space, and or the far future that is most made up through fantasy. In the shows there are no aliens but there are so that could represent the outlaws, which there are many outlaws in the show. Even though Firefly has that western background to it, it still has a lot of fantasies/SF/ background to it also. I think it could be SF just because it has that “fantasy” feel to it like looking into the future of what it might be. I feel that the western part of it has a lot to do with the start of the story line. Why? Well for one in the story they said something that the earth was really bad so some of like maybe the higher class or outlaws live in space in spaceship. I think I does not matter to much that there I the western background because in  the movie Cowboys and Aliens there were cowboys on horse but yet there was still the aliens trying to get gold so the come to earth. In Firefly there are fugitives and outlaws space ship alliances that are crossed so if has both western and SF.

Nerdburger is an effective communicator in this video because she give her opinion and she describes the story in such detail. She is straight forward in her opinion and how she compares the three books and each book she compares and contrasts. She is really determined to get opinion to her viewers. She uses pictures and highlights to get her point across. I was not so interested in hearing what she had to say, but since she is describes these books with such emotions, it made it very interesting to watch and listen to what she had to say. The way she introduces the three books is very obvious to me, which one was the book that is not worth reading. I bring this up because out of the three books she introduces one is sucky. She does a front facing view of the book Sweet Tooth and Badgirl Robin coming out of a book shelf which is obviously worth reading, because they were presented in coming out of her collection. The last book She-Hulk is viewed coming out of the toilet. This indicates that clearly that book is the bad one, which makes the audiences want to watch what she has to say about them all, so creative and passionate in describing her opinion, can we say good critic.

Writing is specific to blogging because in blogging you must be well informed in what you are informing to your audience. So Cazz must be well informed to be able to inform the audience. This is good with writing in general because whether if your blogging or making a video like Cazz, about books you become a critic. Maybe you don’t intend to be a critic but when you are giving your opinion you are being a critic in a way. This ties in with blogging, videoing (whatever it’s called) and writing because you must analyzes literature. To analyze literature you must read the writing and understand and comprehend anything and everything that deals with writhing. Which is basically almost everything

 

My Three Expectation that I have for all my wonderful classmates

·         That all my classmates are respectful in responding to each and every ones blogs, but are entitled to their own opinion (don’t be too harsh)

·         That all my classmates and I will eventually post comments on giving feedback about the blogs and will interact which every one

·         That all my classmate’s will participate so that we will continue to have Fridays Free form class in the morning because I enjoy sleeping in…..
